Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over twenty years. She is currently the president as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss is an California native, and was raised by an affluent family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the manager of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. Following the divorce of her parents in 1972 She began feeling in a sense of being abandoned emotionally. As a 19-year-old she was able to take over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. Later, she founded an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. She first served as vice-president of the Lakers before she assumed the position of president of the Great Western Forum. Her father died in 2013, and his control over ownership for the Lakers was passed on to Buss as well as her siblings by a trust of the family with each sibling having an equal vote. Buss assumed the role of the president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotion company that is based in Los Angeles.
